TENNESSEE STATE FLAG FACTS
Tennessee was the 16th state to enter the Union on June 1, 1796. The state flag was adopted in1905.
The colors are said to represent those of the Confederate States of America. The significance of the three white stars in the blue circle has had more than one explanation. The most accepted and appropriate is that they are bound together in a disoluable unity by an unending white band and that they stand for the East, Middle and West of Tennessee, three distinct geographical areas.
