 GEORGIA STATE FLAG FACTS

Georgia was the 4th state to enter the Union on January 2,1788.  The current flag dates from May 8, 2003.  Support for the new flag came from critics of the 2001 flag that featured a representation of the Confederate cross bars. It was the third flag in a period of 27 months.

The flag featured here is the second flag in the 27 month period.
